At 10:30 a.m. Hong Kong time on 30 October, the Ai Lian Tang Collection: Imperial Scholarly Treasures sale will present twenty-five meticulously selected masterpieces of Chinese art — a refined assemblage that epitomizes the dual identity of the emperor as both sovereign and scholar. The sale explores themes of divine mandate, moral orthodoxy, antiquarian revival, literature, and Confucian ideals—offering insight into the refined intellectual world of the imperial court.

Featuring a diverse array of categories—from Song ceramics and imperial porcelains to Buddhist works of art and courtly craftsmanship—each piece stands as a testament to the sophistication and artistry of the scholar’s studio.
